I wonder how many people practice Yoga off the mat…. I’m not talking about stopping in the middle of WalMart to sport your best Warrior Pose (though that could be pretty fun!)…. I mean, do you take the practice off the mat???
I try to explain in my classes that Yoga is so much more than physical movement. It’s about awareness and clarity – seeing things for what they really are instead of what we want them to be. It’s about endurance and resilience – finding tapas, that burning desire to persevere – experiencing difficulties and discomfort in order to find the good that lies ahead. It’s about being in the present moment, breathing it all in and making conscious choices instead of knee-jerk reactions.
Take Yoga everywhere….
