DAY 18 – WHAT A RELEASE

Ok, I admit it….. I indulged in sleep this morning.  I changed the alarm from 6:45am to 9:00am and it felt GREAT!  But, it didn’t leave me much (or any) time for practice.  Instead, I opted to come to the gym early and practice before practice.  And since I believe that things happen for a reason, I’m glad I did.  I spent a lot of time breathing in Child’s Pose, feeling the pain and tightness in the front of my right hip.  It’s been bound up for a while and sometimes I can get it to release when I’m really focusing on the “why’s” of the tightness.  Man, oh man, did it release today.  Glad I was by myself, because just the sound of it releasing would’ve been enough to scare anyone in the room – a great, big POP and a great, big sigh of relief.  A long Shoulderstand with more emphasis on hip alignment.  An even longer Savasana to affirm the release.

Wow…..

Affirmation for meditation:  I give and receive an abundance of love.  Coincidence?  I think not. 🙂

  1. Sounds wonderful, Beth! Nothin’ like a big release, physically and emotionally:)

  2. Tonight i did a 30 minute yoga practice from Comcast on demand. Great practice! You gotta love that Comcast.

  3. Speaking of a release I had one myself today and it was wonderful! I went to an intense hot practice tonight and for the first time learned to be a little more patient with myself! I normally get so irritated if I can’t hold a pose for as long as I think I should or get irritated at my own weaknesses. I have no idea why, but for the first time today I was simply patient with my body. There was no irritation or frustration simply acceptance of what I can and cannot do yet! It made my practice better than it’s ever been before. I left feeling exhausted, happy and calm….normally I rush out with a mind full of “to do” list items. My release today was from my own criticism and I loved it…..because I can be a real pain even to myself sometimes!!! 🙂

  4. Hey Brad, I did the comcast yoga refresh practice a few times. It’s a 34 minute practice. A little short, but good if you are short on time.

  5. Decided today, Sept 7th, being it was my birthday, I would just be with me; did a very luscious meditation and yin practice; got a pedicure and manicure to show appreciation to my feet and hands for all they do for me.
